Journal of Interdisciplinary African Studies – Volume 3 / Issue 1

This issue features four original research articles offering interdisciplinary perspectives on contemporary issues in Africa. The first article discusses the future of African children within the framework of international human rights law, focusing on the responsibility to protect assumed by global and regional actors. The second article examines the dynamics behind the rise of military governance in West Africa, particularly in the Sahel region. The third study investigates the historical and contemporary administrative roles of traditional chiefs through the case of the Mossi Kingdom. The fourth article explores Africa's economic underdevelopment, analyzing the historical footprint of slavery and colonialism and their impacts on Africa’s place in today’s globalized world.

These studies contribute to the multifaceted understanding of the African continent through historical, political, sociological, and legal lenses.
